The last two weeks in August were very slow. The market picked up during the first two weeks of September, in spite of the current financial market.
Sellers need to be realistic in their pricing when they list. When you get an very low offer, don't be insulted--it's the nature of today's buyer.
FYI: The interest rate dropped to 5.675% for a 30-year fixed mortgage with no points.
